The Church of Fail
A simple, powerful and fun workshop that helps teams reframe failure, deepen trust and grow together.
Introducing The Church of Fail.
I created The Church of Fail ten years ago at a team off-site event, where the brief was simple: find a way to improve the lives of our clients and employees.
What emerged was a powerful blend of improvisation, stagecraft and sound business logic — a workshop format that helps teams openly learn from their mistakes in a fun, accessible and psychologically safe way.
Through this practice, the conversations around “failure” begin to normalise — and growth, courage and connection take their place.
Since its creation it has travelled across the globe! From boardrooms, conferences and classrooms to features in the press including The Guardian, Inc Magazine, People Management and Virgin.com and now has it's home at the annual Happy Start Up SummerCamp (Guardian voted best business event)
The format is beautifully simple. You ask just three questions. Then celebrate the answers with commitment:
- What did you fail at?
- How did you cope with it?
- What would you do differently?
Watch the video above and try it with your own team. You’ll be surprised how quickly the room shifts.
I work with organisations of all sizes to help them communicate better with each other and their clients - through The Church of Fail, intensive training retreats and public speaking programmes.
If you’d like a hand running this or want a bespoke session for your team, get in touch below and I’ll come back to you personally.
